Old Sarum Airfield has for nearly 100 years played an important role not only in defending the United Kingdom from its enemies, but also in the development of British aviation and many of its related activities.
From its inception as a Training Depot Station during WWI until today Old Sarum’s original flying field has been used continuously for aviation and this together with the three WWI listed hangars provide a unique setting for those visiting and using the airfield today.
Old Sarum is Wiltshire’s only licenced airfield and is the home to many resident aircraft (modern and historic) a flying school, parachuting and microlight operations. Its popular café offers good food every day during opening hours.
